License Description
PHARMACISTS SOC Code 29-1051 Entry Salary $61.89/hr Average Salary $65.55/hr Job Description Pharmacists prepare and dispense drugs and medicines prescribed by doctors. Most Pharmacists prepare, compound, package and sell medicines. Requirements 1. Complete a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school. 2. Pass the NAPLEX with a minimum score of 75 3. Pass the MPJE for Wyoming with a minimum score of 75 4. Have 1200 hours of practical experience as a licensed pharmacy intern 5. Complete all requirements within 2 years of the date of application 6. Meet requirements of W.S. 33-24-116 Continuing Education All pharmacists must complete and report 12 hours of approved continuing pharmaceutical education (CPE) obtained during the previous license period in order to renew their license to practice pharmacy. Pharmacists are exempt from the CPE requirement for their first license renewal period. At least one and one-half of the twelve hours of CPE obtained in a licensing period must be related to the responsible prescribing of controlled substances, which may include courses on pain management/opioids. At least one hour of CPE must be related to immunizations for pharmacists who indicate they intend to administer immunizations on their license renewal application. Restrictions Conviction of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude. Alcohol or drug addiction. Fraudulent statements on license application.
