License Description ACUPUNCTURISTS SOC CODE 29-1291 Entry Salary N/A Average Salary N/A Job Description Acupuncturists diagnose, treat, and prevent disorders by stimulating specific acupuncture points within the body using acupuncture needles. May also use cups, nutritional supplements, therapeutic massage, acupressure, and other alternative health therapies. Requirements General License Requirements: 1. A complete and legible application form with a recent, unmounted, full-face photograph 2. Proof of lawful presence in the United States 3. Payment of the fees set by the Board 4. An official transcript giving evidence of graduation from an accredited American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) program and 5. Official passing score of the NCCAOM examination OR Evidence of continuous practice of acupuncture in Wyoming for the last ten (10) years prior to January 1, 2018 OR Official passing score of the California Acupuncture Licensing Examination. 6. Verification of license in good standing from all jurisdictions in which the applicant is currently, or has ever been licensed or certified in any health care profession Auricular Acupuncture License (trained through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) or a Board approved equivalent course to apply up to five fine-gauge, sterilized, one-time use stainless steel needles just under the skin at designated points in each ear) requirements: 1. Evidence of completion of NADA certification training or an equivalent training certificate approved by the Board. Continuing Education Licensees must complete a minimum of thirty hours of continuing education every two years. Restrictions No applicant for license shall have been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude. No applicant for license shall have been convicted of an offense involving controlled substances which may impair the applicant ability to provide competent health care or which could pose a threat to the safety of the consumer public Schools located in Wyoming There are currently no schools for acupuncture in Wyoming. License Licenses are issued by the Wyoming Board of Acupuncture.
