PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANTS SOC Code 31-2021 Entry Salary $25.46/hr Average Salary $26.22/year Job Description Physical therapist assistants assist physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. They may assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment, and modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist. Requirements 1. Proof of Lawful Presence in the United States; 2. An official transcript giving evidence of graduation from nationally accredited program approved by the Board; 3. Passing scores on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE); 4. Verification of license/certificate in good standing from all jurisdictions in which the applicant has been licensed or certified; 5. A successfully completed state jurisprudence examination with a passing score of at least seventy-five (75) percent; Continuing Education Licensees just successfully complete thirty continuing competence units and successfully complete the jurisprudence examination every two years. Restrictions 1. Conviction of a felony. 2. Habitual use of alcohol or drugs. 3. Failure to adhere to the Practice Act. 4. Misconduct or negligent practice. 5. Mental incompetence.
