NURSING ASSISTANTS SOC Code 31-1014 Entry Salary $15.56/hour Median Salary $16.15/hour Job Description Medication Assistants-Certified are certified to, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, provide medications to adult patients with chronic, stable conditions where predictable outcomes are expected from these interaction, as well as other tasks performed by certified nurse assistants. Tasks may include performing delegated tasks such as basic nursing skills, personal care skills, basic restorative skills, using communication skills and nursing team member skills, for clients in hospitals and Nursing Homes. Requirements 1. Meet qualifications for CNA II qualification, including completing board-approved CNA II training and competency evaluation program 2. Complete board-approved MAC training and competency evaluation program 3. Successfully pass a national MAC examination Continuing Education Although there are no set continuing education requirements in Wyoming, a CNA must meet specific continuing competency requirements for license renewal. These include completion of at least 400 hours of employment in the CNA role during the previous two years or completion of 200 hours of employment in the CNA role and 15 hours of continuing education during the previous two years or completion of thirty hours of continuing education during the previous two years or successfully passing the NATCEP exam during the prior two years. Restrictions Convicted of any act of sexual molestation. All applications are reviewed by the State Board for additional restrictions.
