CHILDCARE WORKERS SOC Code 39-9011 Entry Salary $11.83/hr Average Salary $12.39/hr Job Description Child Care Providers/Directors attend to more than two unrelated children at schools, private households, and childcare institutions. Perform a variety of tasks, such as dressing, feeding, bathing, and overseeing play. Requirements 1. Be at least 16 years old. 2. All training and trainers must be approved by the Statewide Training and Resource Systems (STARS) at 1-800-400-3999. 3. Must complete educational requirements for both initial and renewal licensing in the Rules and Regulations of the Board. 4. A full fingerprint-based national criminal history record background check must be conducted for providers and staff over age 18 (DCI/FBI). 5. A child abuse and neglect central registry check from all states the applicant has lived in during the past 5 years must be conducted. 6. A state sex offender registry check for Wyoming and all states the applicant has lived in during the past 5 years must be conducted. 7. Must provide tuberculosis test results. Continuing Education Any child care provider who is engaged in child care for 24 hours per month or more, providing direct care for children, or is counted in staff child ratios must complete a minimum of 32 training credits every two years. Restrictions Not be convicted of a crime against children. Failure to complete all required training. Not be in possession of illegal drugs. Violate any of the Rules or Statutes. Not using or under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. Found guilty of a sexual offense against a person or child. Allowing the commission of a sexual offense against a child.
