License Description MEDICAL ASSISTANTS SOC Code 31-9092 Entry Salary $15.93/hr Average Salary $19.86/hr Job Description Audiometric Technicians/Audiology Aides, under the supervision of a licensed audiologist, conduct fixed intensity air conduction screenings; perform automatic type tympanometry screening procedures following the specified screening protocols developed by the supervisor; carry out prescriptive aural rehabilitation programming; assist with informal documentation; keeping daily logs of screenings performed; perform checks on hearing aids and other assistive listening devices; clean hearing aids; instruct clients in the use of assistive listening devices; schedule activities, prepare charts, records, graphs, or otherwise display data; assist the supervisor in taking earmold impressions; perform simple checks and maintenance of equipment; and participate with supervisor in research projects, in-service training, and public relations programs. Requirements 1. Have a high school education or equivalent. 2. Supervision agreement executed by the applicant and the supervising licensee 3. A training plan including twenty-five (25) hours of direct supervised client contact and twenty-five (25) hours of direct observational training 4. Supervised client contact of 25 hours before licensing. Continuing Education Continuing education is not currently required. An evaluation form from licensee supervisor is required for renewal. Restrictions Unprofessional conduct. School Located in Wyoming There are no schools for Audiometric Technicians/Audiology Aides in Wyoming. License Audiometric Technicians/Audiology Aides must be licensed by the Wyoming Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology.
