License Description HEALTHCARE PRACTITIONERS AND TECHNICAL WORKERS, ALL OTHER SOC CODE 29-9099 Entry Salary $24.52/hr Average Salary $36.63/hr Job Description Midwives provide primary prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care to women and newborns. Requirements 1. Have a high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Have current certification as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM). 2. Graduate of a midwifery program accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC). 3. Provide evidence of successful completion of Board approved courses in the treatment of respiratory distress in newborns, pharmacology, the treatment of shock, intravenous therapy, and suturing specific to midwives. Continuing Education No continuing education is currently required for midwives in Wyoming. Restrictions Convicted of a crime which renders the person unfit to practice midwifery. Violations of the Midwives Licensure Act. Providing false or misleading information to the Board. School Located in Wyoming There are no midwifery schools in Wyoming. License Midwives must be licensed by the State Board of Midwifery. Licenses expire every two years. Examination An examination is not required but applicants must provide proof of current certification as a certified professional midwife by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).
