COSMETOLOGY MANAGER
License Description A cosmetology manager is a person who practices cosmetology and who is responsible for supervising and managing the operation of an establishment and ensuring that the establishment operates in compliance with Chapter 454 of the Wisconsin Statutes and rules promulgated by the Barbering and Cosmetology Examining Board. No person may act as a manager of an establishment unless he or she holds a cosmetology manager license issued by the Barbering and Cosmetology Examining Board. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 1) 4,000 hours of practice as a licensed barber or cosmetologist under the supervision of a licensed manager. ààor 2) 150 training hours of theoretical instruction in a school of barbering or cosmetology licensed by the Department and 2,000 hours of practice as a licensed barber or cosmetologist. ààContinuing Education Requirements per BC 11 cosmetology and who is responsible for supervising and managing the operation of an establishment and ensuring that the establishment operates in compliance with Chapter 454 of the Wisconsin Statutes and rules promulgated by the Barbering and Cosmetology Examining Board. Continuing education is required for licensees providing the following procedures: 1) Laser hair removal û at least 6 hours in programs specific to laser hair removal 2) Microdermabrasion - at least 6 hours in programs specific to microdermabrasion 3) Chemical Exfoliation û at least 6 hours in programs specific to chemical exfoliation FEES: Application fees equal $187-Initial credential, $82-Renewal fee, $107 with late fee; due by March 31st of odd-numbered years. reviewed 04/13
