License Description VETERINARIAN

A licensed veterinarian is a person who is validly and currenly licensed to practice veterinary medicine. The practice of veterinary medicine means to diagnose, treat, correct, change, alleviate, or prevent animal disease, illness, pain, deformity, defect, injury, or other physical, dental or mental conditions by any method or mode.

REQUIREMENTS:
Be of good physical/mental health, good moral character, U.S. or Canadian citizen, or legally entitled to reside in the U.S., and satisfy education and examination requirements.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate and received a doctorate degree from a school or college of veterinary medicine approved by the Board.

EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS:
North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE).

RENEWAL:
Contingent on satisfying continuing education requirements.

CONTINUTING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Obtain twenty (20) hours of continuing education each calendar year.
