Lead Abatement Supervisor
License Description

Lead Abatement Supervisors oversee employees of a lead abatement contractor or of the owner or manager of a leased or rented dwelling or dwelling unit, or of a childcare facility. They conduct abatement activities with a written lead exposure hazard reduction plan and as directed by the employing lead abatement contractor or qualified owner, and must be present at the abatement site at all times when abatement activities are being performed. They prepare written records and ensure that abatement activities are completed in accordance with standards and requirements of the OSHA Lead in Construction Standard.

Certification Requirements:

  • File application
  • Complete a certified training program specific to the discipline of lead abatement
  • Pass examination with a score of 70 percent or higher
  • At least 12 months of work experience as a lead abatement worker
  • At least 12 months of additional work experience in environmental remediation or the building trades

Examination:  Written examination required, which must be conducted by a third party other than the accredited training entity, and must consist of a minimum of 100 multiple choice questions specific to the discipline being applied for; and at least 25 additional questions specific to the provisions of RSA 130-A and Administrative Rule He-P 1600

Continuing Education: Refresher training program and a third-party exam, specific to the discipline, must be completed and an examination passed with a score of 70 percent or higher once every three years

  • Annual renewal: $125

Reciprocity: Permitted with individuals licensed by another state or the federal Environmental Protection
