Occupational Description


A Certified Wastewater Treatment Operator is an individual who is responsible for process controldecisions at a municipal or industrial wastewater treatment facility.

Licensure Requirements


Applicants must:1. Have one to four years of combined education and experience, depending upon level ofcertification.2. Pass a written examination for initial certification, which lasts for two years.

Application for Certification & Examination- $150.00Application for Retest- $125.00Application for Certification by Reciprocity- $150.00Application for One-Year Temporary Certification- $125.00

Renewal


Renewal is required biennially.Completion of at least 2 CEU's (20 contact hours) of approvedcontinuing education during each 2-year certificationcycle is required to qualify for renewal.
