License Description General requirements for initial registration by examination: 1. Complete a professional degree in architecture from a program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB); 2. Complete the experience requirements of the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) in accordance with the guidelines of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB); 3. Pass the NCARB Architect Registration Examination (ARE); 4. Pass the Mississippi Jurisprudence Examination; 5. Complete the required application and pay the application fee. General requirements for reciprocal registration: 1. Provide an official record from NCARB documenting that the applicant has: (a) an active NCARB certificate; (b) a professional degree in architecture from a program accredited by the NAAB; (c) completed the experience requirements in accordance with the guidelines of the NCARB; (d) passed the ARE; 2. Pass the Mississippi Jurisprudence Examination; 3. Complete the required application and pay the application fee. See Miss. Code Ann. Sections 73-1-13, 73-1-17, and 73-1-21. Note: The NAAB degree requirement is waived for reciprocal applicants who were licensed in another jurisdiction or who were a qualified examination candidate in another jurisdiction prior to January 1, 1987. Note: Pursuant to the provisions of the Military Family Freedom Act and the Universal Recognition of Occupational Licenses Act, Mississippi shall recognize occupational licenses obtained from other states.
