Electrical Specialty Trainee
License Description Specialty electricians must be licensed in Idaho and are only allowed to work in their area of specialization. Specialty licenses are available in the areas of: Elevator; Sign; Manufacturing/Assembling; Limited Energy; Irrigation Sprinkler; Well Driller/Pump Installer; Refrigeration, Heating & Air Conditioning; Outside Wireman (Lineman); and Photovoltaic (Solar) Installer. Electrical Specialty Trainees must: 1.) Be at least 16 years of age; 2.) Submit an application with required documents, and fees; 3.) Be employed by a licensed electrical specialty contractor; 4.) Work under the constant supervision of a licensed Electrical Specialty Journeyman; Term: Licenses are valid for three (3) years for specialty apprentices.
