Vocational Education Teacher
License Description Vocational education teachers teach the practical and technical aspects of specific trades to students. They test and evaluate student performance and may be responsible for purchasing and maintaining expensive equipment. Applicant requirements: a high school diploma or equivalent is required for those in the trade and industrial or healthcare science technology fields, while a bachelor's degree is required for all other vocational fields two years of occupational work experience in the requested field of certification 40 quarter hours or 24 semester hours of appropriate professional education pass the GACE Basic Skills: Reading, Math, and Writing assessment pass the appropriate assessment applicable to the vocational field successfully complete a test of computer skill competency complete a course in identification and education of children with special education needs Higher levels of certification are available, but additional education is required.
