License Description Psychologists study human behavior to help solve or prevent individual or group problems. They may provide testing, counseling, or treatment in mental hospitals, private practice, schools, and industries. Applicant requirements: good moral character doctoral degree in applied psychology from an APA accredited college two years of approved experience in psychology pass a national computerized exam, oral exam, and written state Laws and Rules exam has not failed an examination given by the board within the preceding six months of application Fees: Application: $150.00 Testing: $450.00 (paid directly to the examination company) Renewal: $250.00 (biennial, expires December 31st on even numbered years) Late: $375.00 Examination: Type: Computerized (national exam), written (Laws and Rules exam), and oral When: Oral - third Friday of each month Laws and Rules - 4 times each year Computerized - arrange time and date with local testing center Where: Oral and Laws and Rules - Macon Computerized - Prometric testing centers located throughout the state Repeats: 3 (must earn a minimum of 5 quarter hours of Board approved graduate level coursework in psychology at a regionally accredited institution prior to taking each and any additional written exam)
