License Description Midwife Licensure Requirements In order to be eligible for nurse-midwife licensure, an individual must meet the following requirements: Be eligible for Connecticut registered nurse licensure; Foreign Trained Nurse Midwives who do not hold a current registered nurse license in another state or territory, must have successfully completed the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) Examination and have verification of same sent directly from CGFNS to this office. Hold current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB); and Have successfully completed thirty (30) hours of education in pharmacology for nurse-midwifery.
