License Description Licensing Requirements Before applying for licensure, please familiarize yourself with the general licensing policies. An applicant for licensure must: Have earned a graduate degree in art therapy or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, and Hold a current credential or certification as an art therapist (ATR-BC) from the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB).
