License Description A funeral director is a person who is engaged in, or conducting, or offer to arrange, direct or supervise the transportation or burial or disposal of human remains. Also includes persons who maintain an establishment for the preparation for the transportation or disposition or for the care of human remains. Fees: Application and Examination: $190; License Fee: $380; Renewal fee: $380 Examination Frequency: 6 days a weeks Exam Locations: 20 sites throughout the State of California (outside vendor PSI). Experience Requirement: Associate of arts or science degree, or the equivalent, or a higher level of education. Average Time to Process Application: 20 days. Renewal Period: Annually. Special License Requirements: N/A Authority: Business and Professions Code Sections 7615, 7618-7623; California Code of Regulations, Title 16, Section 1204.
