Fisherman's Retail License
License Description Fees include a nonrefundable three percent (3%) application fee, not to exceed $7.50 per item. (California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 700.4). Items purchased from Online License Sales and Services and at license agents will include five percent (5%) nonrefundable license agent handling fee. Fees: License: $130.81; Application: None; Examination: None. Examination Frequency: N/A Exam Locations: N/A Experience Requirement: N/A Average Time to Process Application: 15 working days. Renewal Period: Annually, January 1 - December 31. Special License Requirements: Commercial Fishing License. Exception: A commercial fisherman who is also licensed as a fish receiver is not required to obtain this license if he/she also sells his/her catch to ultimate consumers. Comments: Licensee is required to report monthly landing taxes to the Department. Authority: Fish and Game Code, Section 8033.5.
