License Description Fees: Fees are subject to change with each fiscal year. Refer to the LFS General Fee Information Page for a full list of fees associated with licensing. Exams: Applicants must refer to the LFS Website for the list of approved certifying organization examinations for each license category. Academic and Experience Requirements: Physician and Surgeon licensed to practice in California or Ph.D. in a biological science or field related to genetics with specific course requirements plus two years' training in clinical cytogenetic in a training program approved by the American of Medical Genetics and Genomic (ABMGG) or the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists (CCMG) and two years' experience in a clinical laboratory certified under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) supervising or performing high complexity clinical laboratory test in clinical cytogenetics. Renewal Period: Every two years. Refer to the LFS Website for more complete information. Comments: Director as defined by law for cytogenetic laboratories. Director limited to cytogenetics.
