Traffic Violator School Instructor License
License Description Persons that work for a traffic violator school as an instructor and teach others how to safely operate a motor vehicle. Fees: Application: $50; Renewal: $50; Transfer: $25; Replacement or Duplicate: $15; Family Support Program: $1; Test Fee $16 Examination Frequency: Three years (18 hours of continuous professional education can be substituted for the subsequent exams). Exam Locations: Multiple Experience Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent. Average Time to Process Application: 120 days. May issue temporary permit. License Renewal Period: Three years following date of issuance. Renewal Period: N/A Special License Requirements: Be 21 years of age or older; hold a valid California driver's license; pass background investigation; be employed by a licensed traffic violator school; have a driving record which does not contain an outstanding notice for violating a written promise to appear in court or for willfully failing to pay a lawfully imposed fine; provide results of written examination and proof of high school graduation or equivalent.
