Clinical Chemist License
License Description This license permits you to direct a laboratory certified under CLIA for performing high complexity testing in all areas of the specialty of chemistry. Fees: Fees are subject to change with each fiscal year. Refer to the LFS General Fee Information Page for a full list of fees associated with licensing. Exams: Applicants must refer to the LFS Website for the list of approved certifying organization examinations for each license category. Academic, Training, and Experience Requirements: Master of Science or doctoral degree in chemistry with specific course requirements plus one year of post-graduate training in clinical chemistry and three years of applicable work experience in a clinical laboratory certified under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), two years of which shall have been at a supervisory level. Renewal Period: Every two years. Refer to the LFS Website for more complete information. Comments: Clinical laboratory director as defined by law in clinical laboratories.
