Licensed Personal Security Officer
License Description The Board requires applicants to have completed at least 8 hours of Board Approved classroom training with a Certified Trainer. Armed Security Officer must have completed 14 hours. Security Officer or Armed Security Officer applicants with less than 5 years of continuous experience are not subject to the 8 hours if a Certified Trainer certifies the person has received at least 8 hours of training during current employment with proper verification. Successful completion of Board mandated training shall be determined by the attendee achieving an acceptable score on a written test related to the course subject matter or achieving an acceptable qualification score on a firearm qualification course.
